Follow focus through the Nikon sequence

Open the NEF folder or card directly and compare focus, expression, and gesture across neighboring frames without importing the shoot first.

01

Start with the NEF folder

Open the Nikon files from a folder, card, or drive without moving the shoot into another library first.

02

Compare focus across the run

Keep neighboring frames close as sharpness, expression, and gesture change from one press to the next.

03

Keep the rating with the select

Mark Nikon selects with ratings, labels, flags, and core metadata for the handoff to your next application.

04

Continue with the selected NEFs

Bring the smaller set into Nikon NX Studio, Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom, Capture One, or the editor that will develop the final image.

Choose the NEF. Then shape the image.

unraw uses the preview stored inside the NEF file to keep the first pass immediate and the full sequence in front of you.

With the smaller set chosen, continue with Nikon Picture Control, color, noise reduction, and final rendering in your RAW editor.

Can unraw open Nikon NEF files directly?

A folder or card containing NEF files opens directly in unraw. Begin culling without creating an unraw catalog or importing the shoot first.

What comes after the NEF cull?

Continue with the selected NEF files in Nikon NX Studio, Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom, Capture One, or your preferred RAW editor for color and final rendering.

Can I keep ratings with my Nikon selects?

Use ratings, labels, flags, and core XMP/IPTC metadata to carry the first-pass decisions toward the next application.
